Dr. Elaine Goodfriend: History of the Jewish People

November 6, 2024   

Priscilla Schneider presented a moving presentation about her family’s Shoah story, their coming to the U.S. and being immigrants, as well as their experience of assimilation. The class’s students shared their own immigration experiences, and it was a very rewarding experience for all.

Bearing Witness Program

March 5, 2025

Debbie Beckman, Paul Schneider and Sharon Weisz, members of Shoah Legacy Writers Group were asked to participate with UCLA students at the conclusion of their 8 week program in which they spent time with a Holocaust survivor. SLWs in attendance helped the students process the meaning of survivor-hood and its meaning in their lives.  As well, SLWs answered student questions and discussed growing up as children of Holocaust survivors.

Holocaust Studies’ Sala and Aron Samueli Art & Writing Contest Awards Ceremomy

Debbie Beckman and Sharon Weisz, Shoah Legacy Writers Group were honored to be asked to attend this Award Ceremony for students writing for the Holocaust Studies Program. The SLW members were recognized as a group working in the field of Holocaust Remembrance.
